The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.
We continue the list today with number 97 in our countdown with TCU sophomore infielder Taylor Featherston. He comes from Katy, Texas where he attended Taylor High School where he attended Taylor High School. He was a three year letter winner and was rated the 28th best prospect in Texas by Baseball America.
In the 2009 season, Featherston was one of only two players to start in all 58 games. He finished the season with a .322 average with five homers and 28 RBI. He was also solid on the basepaths with eight stolen bases in 12 attempts.
He played the summer of 2009 with the New Bedford Bay Sox where he hit a team leading .321 with a homer and 12 RBI in his 21 games played. He also picked up four stolen bases in five attempts.
The biggest issue holding Featherston back is his defense as he made 27 errors last season for a fielding percentage of .909. He also struggled in the NECBL as he made six errors for a fielding percentage of .941.

This kid can play, had him as a host family for the NECBL easily the team MVP, should have played in the Cape Cod League. TCU will be a contender again for the college world series and they will certaily win the Mountain West. The school is putting themselves on the map with Football and Baseball.
