PresbyterianCollege Clinton, S.C. – Presbyterian College head baseball coach Elton Pollock is proud to announce the 2010 slate of games which will feature 54 games and 22 home contests.

The season opener comes at the USC Upstate Tournament as the Blue Hose play Appalachian State on February 19. A day later, the Blue Hose face USC Upstate before closing out the weekend with the home opener coming on the 21st against USC Upstate.

"We’re really excited about our upcoming 2010 schedule," said Pollock. "We have worked hard to develop a schedule that would not only challenge our guys, but would create a major interest from all of our alumni and Blue Hose baseball supporters. This will be our toughest slate of games since we’ve made the move to Division I."

The schedule breaks down with 22 games at home and 32 away from the friendly confines of Clinton. There is a full slate of 27 Big South Conference games including home series against Gardner-Webb, UNC Asheville, Charleston Southern, Liberty and High Point.

There are six dates scheduled against power conference opponents from the ACC and SEC. The Blue Hose visit Duke on May 11 for a doubleheader and travel to Clemson on May 18. PC visits Georgia in the first week of the season (Feb 24) and a week later visit South Carolina (March 3). The SEC opponents wrap up on March 31 with a road trip to Tennessee.

A fan favorite road trip this year will certainly be the March 19-21 series at UCF.

Local rivals Furman and Wofford both dot the schedule throughout the season. Three games against Furman will be played including a game in Greenville on Furman’s campus (April 14), a game in Clinton (March 23) and a game at the Greenville Drive Stadium (April 22). The Blue Hose will face Wofford on St. Patrick’s Day in Forest City, N.C. and again in Spartanburg on March 24.

Also included in the schedule is a trip to the Davidson Tournament and a home three game series against Eastern Kentucky (March 5-7). On March 12, PC will travel to play North Carolina Central at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Senior Day festivities will be held on April 11 prior to the finale of the UNC Asheville series.
