COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M baseball team begins preparations for the 2010 season on Monday when the Aggies open fall workouts at Olsen Field.

The fall roster is divided into two teams that will scrimmage each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at around 3 p.m. Regular workouts will take place on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons as well. All practices and scrimmages are open to the public.

"We can’t wait to get started on Monday," fifth-year head coach Rob Childress said. "This team and staff are hungry to get back out there and work as hard as we can to get ready for the spring. Last year we had the most intense and competitive fall since we’ve been here, and we expect nothing less this time around. We look forward to taking the next step towards our goal of bringing home a championship and being the last team standing in Omaha."

A&M returns six starters and 20 letterwinners from last year’s squad, which posted 37 wins and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season.

The Aggies will conclude fall workouts with the annual Fall World Series at the end of October. The 2010 season will begin on Friday, February 19 at Olsen Field against Seton Hall.
