The Southern Utah Thunderbirds have released the schedule for their 2010 campaign. The team will begin the season with a mid-week road game against UNLV (Feb. 23) before the home opener against Utah Valley (Feb. 26-27). The Thunderbirds then travel to Lewiston, Idaho, to take part in the Banana Belt Tournament (March 4-7). The team returns home for a weekend set against Kennesaw State (March 12-13) which will be followed by a season long ten game road trip where Southern Utah will take on San Diego State (March 16-17), Oregon State (March 25), Portland (March 26-28), Oregon (March 30), and Utah Valley (April 2-3).
The Thunderbirds then return home for a game with in-state foe Utah (April 6) before opening conference play against Centenary (April 8-10). Southern Utah will also have home Summit League series against Oral Roberts (April 15-17), South Dakota State (April 22-24), and IPFW (May 6-8). The Thunderbirds will travel to North Dakota State (April 30-May 2), Western Illinois (May 14-16), and Oakland (May 20-22) for conference play. Also highlighting the non-conference schedule is a return trip from UNLV (April 13) and a short trip to Utah (April 20).
The High Point Panthers have unveiled their 2010 schedule as well. The Panthers will play 31 games at Williard Stadium this season. The team will begin the year with a split two game series against UNC Charlotte (Feb. 19-20) which will be followed by thirteen straight home contests. During the long homestand, the Panthers will face off against Elon (Feb. 23), Fairleigh Dickinson (Feb. 26-28), East Carolina (March 2), Towson (March 5-7), Richmond (March 9-10), and Eastern Kentucky (March 12-14).
High Point will begin Big South Conference play at home against VMI (March 19-21) and will also have home conference series against Radford (April 17-18), UNC Asheville (April 23-25), and Gardner-Webb (May 7-9). The Panthers will have road Big South series at Winthrop (March 26-28), Liberty (April 2-3), Coastal Carolina (April 9-11), Presbyterian (May 14-16), and Charleston Southern (May 21-23). Other notable non-conference games for the Panthers are road clashes with East Carolina (March 23), Duke (March 30), Wake Forest (April 7), Elon (April 21), North Carolina (April 27), and North Carolina State (May 18) as well as home games with Wake Forest (March 24) and Duke (April 28).
