The Cal Golden Bears have unveiled their 2010 schedule. The season will begin with a four games in Berkeley against Southern Utah (Feb. 19-21) and UC Davis (Feb. 23) before the Golden Bears take part in the Cal State Bakersfield Tournament (Feb. 26-28). Also highlighting the non-conference schedule for the Bears is a four game weekend series at Rice (March 11-14) and a three game set at Cal Poly (March 19-21) as well as a home series against the Arkansas Razorbacks (March 5-7).
Cal will open conference play at Arizona State (March 26-28) and also travel to USC (April 9-11), Stanford (April 23-25), Washington State (May 8-10), and Oregon (May 28-30). The Golden Bears will host Pac 10 series against Arizona (April 1-3), Washington (April 16-18), Oregon State (April 30-May 2), and UCLA (May 21-23). Cal will also host Stanford for a mid-week non-conference game April 5.
The Columbia Lions travel west to begin the 2010 campaign, visiting UNLV (March 5-7) for a four game set. The Lions then play ten games in ten days as they travel to Richmond (March 12-14), Virginia Tech (March 15), and Appalachian State (March 16-17) before taking part in the Winthrop University Coca-Cola Classic Tournament (March 18-21) against Winthrop, Kent State, Penn State, and another team TBD. Columbia then will have a much needed day off before a mid-week game at St. John’s (March 23). The home opener for the Lions will be a four game set against Bucknell (March 27-28).
The Lions begin Ivy League play at home against Yale (April 3) and Brown (April 4) and will also host Princeton (April 17-18) and Penn (May 1) at Robertson Field. As for conference road games, Columbia will visit Dartmouth (April 10), Harvard (April 11), Cornell (April 24-25), and Penn (April 30). The Ivy League Championship (May 8-9) will be held at a campus site TBD.
