Washington Huskies baseball will begin the Lindsay Meggs era in 2010. The new head coach released the upcoming season’s schedule for the Huskies, which will see his team start the year in the Tucson Tournament (Feb. 19-21). Coach Meggs will get his first taste of baseball at Husky Ballpark when the team welcomes Fresno State (Feb. 26-28) to Seattle for a weekend series. The Huskies will then hit the road for a season long eight game road trip with stops at Oregon (March 2-3), Long Beach State (March 5-7), and BYU (March 11-13).
Washington then has a home series against Cal State Fullerton (March 19-21) and a weekend set at Dallas Baptist (March 25-27) before opening Pac 10 play at home against Washington State (April 1-3). The Huskies will also face off with Arizona (April 9-11), Stanford (April 30-May 2), UCLA (May 7-9), and Oregon (May 21-23) at Husky Ballpark. Washington will hit the road for conference series against Cal (April 16-18), Arizona State (April 23-25), Oregon State (May 14-16), and USC (May 28-30). The Huskies will also have a mid-week four game split series with Gonzaga, with road games being April 6-7 and home games being April 27-28.
The Pacific Tigers kick off the 2010 campaign with a split series against San Francisco (Feb. 19-21), with two games being played at Klein Family Field and one game being played in San Francisco. A mid-week game at Stanford (March 23) is followed by six straight home games against Nevada (Feb. 26-28) and Seattle (March 5-7). The Tigers will then make a trip to San Antonio, Texas, to take part in the Irish Baseball Classic (March 10-13). Pacific will then have weekend series against USC (March 19-21) and San Jose State (March 26-28) before beginning conference play at Long Beach State (April 1-3).
The Tigers will also hit the road for Big West play to take on UC Irvine (April 16-18), UC Davis (May 6-8), and Cal Poly (May 21-23). Klein Family Field will host conference series involving UC Riverside (April 9-11), Cal State Northridge (April 23-25), Cal State Fullerton (April 30-May 2), and UC Santa Barbara (May 28-30). Other notable non-conference games for the Tigers are a home game against Stanford (March 23) and a home-and-home mid-week set with Cal (April 20 & May 25).
Nevada will begin the season traveling for the first two weeks as they play games at Santa Clara (Feb. 19-21), Saint Mary’s (Feb. 22), Pacific (Feb. 26-28), and UC Davis (March 1). The Wolf Pack will get their first action at Peccole Park when they welcome Central Arkansas (March 5-7) and Saint Mary’s (March 10) to Reno. Nevada will also have non-conference weekend series at UC Bakersfield (March 12-14), Oregon (March 19-21), and Seattle (April 16-18) as well as home series against UC Irvine (March 26-28) and a return trip from Seattle (April 2-4).
The Wolf Pack will begin conference play on the road at New Mexico State (April 9-11), and the team will also have WAC series at Hawai’i (April 30-May 2) and Sacramento State (May 14-16). Nevada will have home WAC weekend series against Fresno State (April 23-25), San Jose State (May 7-9), and Louisiana Tech (May 21-23). The WAC Tournament (May 27-29) will be held at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Arizona.
