Kendall Rogers of Rivals.com continues his excellent coverage of College Baseball by looking at five freshmen who might be able to make an immediate impact on their college program in 2010.
The first player is Matt Purke who spurned a multi-million dollar offer from the Rangers and will be a member of the TCU team for the next two seasons. (He will be a draft eligible sophomore). This is a huge get for Jim Schlossnagle as many college programs didn’t think Purke would end up on campus. The next player on his list is shortstop Kenny Diekroeger who hopes to return the Stanford Cardinal to the promise land in Omaha. The others players on the list are Jake Barrett (Arizona State), Branden Kline (Virginia), and Derek Dennis (Michigan). You can check out his full article by clicking here.

Brian,
Just an FYI on Purke, he will be a draft eligible sophomore as he will turn 21 in July of ’11.
Those pesky Sophomore eligible players.
What about Patrick Schuster? Passed up the draft and threw 4 consecutive no hitters in the state of Florida. Will be a Florida Gator this year.
