Holy Cross head coach Greg DiCenzo has added Gabe Ribas and Jeff Kane to his staff for the 2009-2010 school year. Ribas comes over to Holy Cross from Northwestern where he served as an assistant coach last season. He has also served coaching stints with the IMG Baseball Academy, Bowdoin College, Frozen Ropes Baseball Academy, and Rock Solid Baseball. Ribas was a 14th round selection in 2002 by the San Diego Padres.
Coach DiCenzo stated the following: “Gabe has undoubtedly become one of the most sought after assistant coaches in the country and I cannot be more excited for our players, our alumni, and the entire Holy Cross community.”
Jeff Kane also joins the Holy Cross staff after a successful run at Westford Academy and serving as the head coach of the Lowell All-Americans. Kane played with the Clemson Tigers from 1997-1999 where he was a member of three teams that were ranked in the top 25. Coach DiCenzo stated the following: “He brings a wealth of knowledge from his days as a player at Clemson, as well as his many games at the helm as a Head Coach for Westford Academy and for the Lowell All-Americans in the NECBL.”
