Rob Valli PHILADELPHIA – Temple head baseball coach Rob Valli has added three players to his recruiting class–shortstop Adrian Perez (Woodland, CA / Woodland / Yuba CC), righthander pitcher Brian Sustersic (Orlando, FL / Dr. Phillips / Daytona State CC) and outfielder Bobby McCormick (Oakton, VA / Oakton). The trio will arrive on campus later this month to help the Owls pursue an Atlantic 10 Championship in 2010.

"We evaluated our roster at the end of the season and decided that we needed to address three specific areas–an impact middle infielder, a power arm, and a left handed hitting outfielder," Valli said. "These three student-athletes fit those needs perfectly."

Perez (6-2, 185) is a transfer from Yuba College, where he earned first team All-Bay Valley Conference honors after batting .399 with eight home runs and 34 RBI as a sophomore. He led the team in doubles (12), homers, runs scored (42), stolen bases (nine) and slugging percentage (.632). Perez was also recruited by NC State, Gonzaga and Oral Roberts.

Sustersic (6-0, 205) won three games at Daytona State CC, striking out 47 batters in 50.1 innings as a sophomore. He earned All-Orange County honors as a prep player at Dr. Phillips High School.

McCormick (6-0, 170) was a four-year starter at Oakton and received second team all-district honors as a senior.

"We are excited to mesh our incoming recruits together with a talented group of returning players," Valli said.

The Owls open the 2010 season on February 19 at the Florida Gulf Coast Classic.
