(Victoria, Tx) The Victoria Generals of the Texas Collegiate League are pleased to announce the addition of Covey Morrow to the pitching staff. The big lefthander (6’5″) will be a sophomore at Texas State and comes highly recommended by their Head Coach Ty Harrington.
Generals Head Coach Chris Clemons said, “Covey is one of those talented guys with a high ceiling that we are always looking for. He will definitely help us as we battle through the final weeks of the season.”

High School: Earned three letters at Yoakum High School under head coach Jace Wood … named 2006 29-3A District and All-Area Newcomer of the Year … took All-State Honorable Mention, as well … earned 2007 District MVP award … also took All-Area and 3rd-Team All-State as a junior … capped senior season with a 14-1 record and 1st-Team All-District honors at first base … pitched a career total of 123.0 innings, 206 strikeouts, compiling a 0.96 ERA at YHS.
Personal: Joe Covey Morrow, IV was born December 27, 1989 to Covey and Tammy Morrow … played under Mike Rutledge and Billy Willis in the Kyle Chapman baseball program … electrical engineering major.
Brad Haynes, VP of Baseball Operations, said that “after Jake McMurtry went down with a knee injury, we were looking for the right guy to add to our clubhouse mix. We have a nice group of guys that are always pulling for each other and it’s amazing the chemistry that has developed.”
