Wake Forest new head coach Tom Walter has announced that he has hired Bill Cilento as an assistant coach. He comes over from Brown University where he spent the last three seasons. He brought the Brown Bears to the NCAA Tournament in 2007 where they led the Ivy League in every offensive category including winning the team batting average title by 39 points. Cilento has also had coaching stops at New Orleans under Walter and at his alma mater Siena. The full press release is available by clicking here.
East Carolina head coach Billy Godwin announced today that Nick Schnabel has been hired as an assistant coach. Schnabel is a 2000 graduate of East Carolina where he stood out on the diamond for two seasons as the starting second baseman. He started his coaching career in 2004 as the volunteer assistant coach under Keith LeClair In 2005, he moved onto Chipola College where he served as an assistant coach for the season. After his stop with Chipola, he moved onto the US Miltary Academy where he coached two seasons developing some outstanding baseball talent with the Cadets in Cole White and Milan Dinga. In 2008, he decided to leave West Point in favor of Liberty where he has spent the last two seasons under Jim Toman. The Flames reached the Big South Championship game in both of his seasons.
