The Cape Cod Times does an excellent job covering the Cape Cod Baseball League day in and day out. They have been putting out some outstanding features in the recent days that you should check out.

The first article looks at Brewster public address announcer Jim Nowak who has been around the Cape Cod League for the past 46 seasons starting as a bat boy with Chatham in 1963. He even remembers when former Yankee player Thurman Munson was playing in the league. The full article is available by clicking here.

The next article checks in on Canadian born and Kentucky’s Chris Bisson who has been tearing up the basepaths this summer for the Cotuit Kettleers. His story is interesting as he was brought up playing fast pitch softball until he was 13 and switched over to baseball. He also never played high school baseball while just playing on a summer league team. The full interview from him is available by clicking here.

We continue our run of articles on the Cape League with one from Russ Charpentier who has a great article on Auburn centerfielder Trent Mummey who is having an excellent summer with Harwich. The full article is available by clicking here.

The Cape Cod Times continues their run of questions and answers with Harold Martinez of Miami (FL). He has an interesting story about his father swimming to Guantanamo Bay Cuba when Harold was only one years old. His father relocated for two years before bringing Harold and his mother over to the states. You can check out the full article by clicking here.

The final article looks at the great summer East Carolina’s first baseman/designated hitter Kyle Roller has been having hitting several home runs. He is one of a few juniors in the league this season as he is trying to prove his worth to the Oakland A’s who picked him in the 47th round. He hasn’t been able to come to an agreement yet as Roller is looking for a substantial amount of money. His strong start in the Cape Cod League has increased the likelihood of the A’s upping their offer. You can check out the full article by clicking here.
