Western Major Baseball LeagueThe Okotoks Dawgs continue to lead the West Division with a 22-10 record. The Dawgs lost road games to the Regina Red Sox and the Medicine Hat Mavericks, then won two home games against the Moose Jaw Miller Express, 14-3 and 6-4. The games against Moose Jaw drew crowds of 1,864 and 1,793. In the 6-4 win, the Dawgs scored five runs in the second inning on an RBI double by C Brett Thomas (California), a two-RBI single by 2B Matt Hart (Santa Ana College), an RBI single by RF Anthony Cros (Northwest Oklahoma State), and a sacrifice fly by CF Jeremy Shelby (Grambling State). Cros’ RBI was the winning run, and Marc Wilson (Campbellsville) got the win, his first of the season. Cros leads the team with a .405 batting average, and a .553 on-base percentage. Dan Britton-Foster (British Columbia) is the leading pitcher for the Dawgs, with a record of 3-0, 1.12 ERA.

The Swift Current Indians lead the Central Division with a 20-9 record. The Indians defeated the Medicine Hat Mavericks 7-3, and the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets 3-2. The Indians scored all three of their runs against the Yellow Jackets in the bottom of the eighth, on an RBI single by RF Kyle Albright (Embry-Riddle), an RBI double by 1B Conrad Funk (Winthrop), and an RBI single by LF Kurri Darbi (Kansas Wesleyan). Shawn Lee (Bellevue) leads the Indians in hitting with a .393 average.

The Melville Millionaires lead the East Division with a 15-12 record. The Millionaires lost two games against the Weyburn Beavers, and split two games against the Edmonton Prospects, winning 10-9 and losing 8-4. James Green (Houston-Victoria) is batting .387 for the Millionaires. Coty Saranthus (Southwest Mississippi CC), who leads the league in pitching with a record of 3-0, 0.30 ERA, did not make an appearance this week.
