MANHATTAN, Kan. – Each Monday throughout the summer, k-statesports.com takes look at current and former Wildcats in collegiate summer leagues and in the professional ranks.

Alaska Baseball League

Daniel Dellasega, one of four seniors-to-be, was 2-for-14 in four games last week for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots… Against the Alaska Goldpanners on Monday, Dellasega went 1-for-4 with a RBI in a 4-1 victory… The catcher is 5-for-40 (.125) with a RBI and is 1-for-1 in stolen base attempts for the Glacier Pilots, who are 13-12 overall and 11-8 in league play… Another senior-to-be, Mark Joukoff was victorious in his lone start last week for the Anchorage Bucs… On Sunday against the Glacier Pilots, the right-hander allowed one earned run on three hits with three walks and four strikeouts in 5.1 innings… In seven appearances this season, including four starts, Joukoff is 4-2 with a 4.05 ERA… Joukoff has allowed 12 earned runs in 26.2 innings with seven walks and 13 strikeouts… The Bucs are in second place in the ABL with an 11-8 record in league play and a 16-10 record overall.

Central Plains Baseball League

The Junction City Generals, who field Mike Kindel, Nick Cocking, James Allen, Matt Applegate and signee Brandon Faulkner, are 15-4 this season (thru July 2) after a loss at Topeka on Thursday… Prior to Thursday’s game, Faulkner and Applegate held the Generals’ two lowest ERAs… Faulkner is a perfect 3-0 with a 1.73 ERA in four starts for Junction City… The junior-college transfer has allowed just five earned runs on 13 hits with eight walks and 18 strikeouts… Applegate is 2-0 with a 2.32 ERA in three starts, having allowed five earned runs on 19 hits in 19.1 innings with 9 walks and 15 strikeouts… Prior to Thursday, Cocking was hitting .250 (14-for-56) with two doubles, one homer, 11 RBI and 13 walks… Kindel was hitting .225 (9-for-40) with two doubles, a homer and five RBI.

Coastal Plain League

Right-hander Ryan Daniel suffered his second loss in three starts on Tuesday for the Fayetteville SwampDogs… The senior-to-be lasted just 3.1 innings, allowing seven runs (four earned) on five hits with two walks and one strikeout against Florence… Daniel is 0-2 with a 7.90 ERA… In his three starts, Daniel has surrendered 12 earned runs on 21 hits with seven walks and three strikeouts in 13.2 innings… Fayetteville holds an 18-13 record.

Jayhawk Baseball League

Sophomores-to-be Matt Giller, Justin Lindsay and Cameron Welch are playing for the El Dorado Broncos this summer, who lead the Jayhawk Baseball League with a 12-4 record in league play and an 18-7 overall record… El Dorado split its two-game midweek league series against Derby last week… Updated player stats for the Broncos were not available… As of June 29, Giller was 5-for-23 (.217) with a double and two RBI, while Welch was hitting .226 (7-for-31) with two doubles, one triple and four RBI… Lindsey, who redshirted the 2009 season, was 2-1 with a 3.54 ERA, allowing eight earned runs on 14 hits with five walks and 23 strikeouts in 20.1 innings.

M.I.N.K. League

A quartet of Wildcats – Jake Brown, Evan Marshall, Nick Martini and signee Jake Doller – have led the Topeka Golden Giants to a 12-6 M.I.N.K record, which is tops in the league… Updated stats for the Golden Giants were not available, but, as of June 20, Brown was 0-for-15 with six walks and two hit-by-pitches… The second baseman also scored four runs and stole three bases… Marshall started against St. Joseph on June 18, allowing three runs on five hits with four strikeouts… That came on the heels of a 7.0 scoreless-innings outing against the Nevada Griffons on June 9… The sophomore-to-be has allowed three runs on eight hits in 15.0 innings with no walks and nine strikeouts… Doller, an incoming freshman, started against Beatrice on June 11 and threw 5.1 innings, allowing one earned run on two hits with three walks and three strikeouts, but suffered the loss… As of June 20, Martini was 4-for-16 in five games with five walks, a hit-by-pitch and a pair of stolen bases.

Prospect League

The Springfield Sliders, who are 13-13 this summer, field incoming junior-college transfer David Allday and senior-to-be Adam Muenster… Allday recorded a quality week, going 5-for-11 (.455) with three homers and four RBI… He went 2-for-2 with a solo homer against Dupage on Tuesday, 1-for-2 with another homer and three RBI on Thursday against Richmond and tallied another homer against Dubois on Friday… Muenster, who played in just three games last week, was 2-for-9 with a walk and a run scored… This summer, Allday is 11-for-49 (.224) with four doubles, four homers and six RBI… Muenster paces the team with a .346 average (18-for-52) with a double, two triples, a homer and nine RBI.

Sierra Baseball League

Jason King helped the San Luis Obispo Blues earn a 4-1 record last week as the third baseman went 3-for-11 (.273) in three games… On Thursday against the Santa Maria Pilots, King went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored before hitting a RBI double on Saturday at the Conejo Oaks… In 13 games, the third baseman is hitting .286 (14-for-49) with two doubles, 10 walks and three RBI… The Blues are 23-7 this season.

Texas Collegiate League

The McKinney Marshals, which is the summer home to a pair of juniors-to-be in Carter Jurica and Thomas Rooke, recorded their first winning week, going 3-1… Rooke picked up his first victory of the summer on Wednesday against Brazos Valley… The left-hander allowed just two earned runs on three hits with three walks and four strikeouts in 5.2 innings… In three games this season, Rooke is 1-0 with a 3.12 ERA… The Spring, Texas, product has allowed five earned runs on 10 hits with 11 walks and 14 strikeouts in 17.1 innings… However, in his last two appearances, Rooke holds a 2.06 ERA, allowing three earned runs in 13.1 innings… Jurica went 1-for-8 (.125) with a solo home run and two runs scored in two games before suffering an undisclosed injury… Jurica’s homer came in a 7-5 loss to Coppell on June 16.

Walter Johnson League

Three freshmen from this past season, Daniel Rumsey, Kyle Hunter and Chad Jasman, are playing for the Salina Bluejays this summer, who went 1-3 last weekend after being swept in a doubleheader by Hutchinson on Thursday and splitting a doubleheader with Team Elite on Sunday… Salina is second in the north division at 15-15… Salina hosts Newton on Wednesday before the Walter Johnson League Playoffs this weekend… Individual player stats were not available.
