Stephen Strasburg is expected to be the number 1 selection on June 9th by the Washington Nationals in one of the worst kept secrets in sports history. I have heard from several sources that Strasburg’s agent/adviser Scott Boras is going to ask the Nationals for 50 million dollars.

Strasburg is listed at 6’4 220 pounds and is considered one of the top pitching prospects out of college baseball in recent memory. He dominated the college game by going 13-1 with an ERA of 1.32 with the only loss coming in a NCAA Regional game against Virginia. Strasburg struck out 195 batters in only 109 innings which comes out to 1.78 strikeouts per inning. CBB Contributor/Daily Cal Sports Editor Katie Dowd filed a report for us on Strasburg’s start against Santa Clara. You can check out the article by clicking here.

Is he really that good? I don’t think any college pitcher is that good to commit 50 million dollars to a single baseball player who never has thrown a pitch in the Minor Leagues. Should the Nationals use that money in another way? I think so but I am not the GM. You can check out some video of Strasburg below.
