(Victoria, Tx) The Victoria Generals of the Texas Collegiate League are excited to have Willie Kempf in their rotation for the summer. Willie was the 2009 Captain for The Baylor Bears. Last summer he was named to the Cape Cod League all-star squad. This spring Willie was the number 2 pitcher for the Bears with a 4-3 record and a 5.62 era. He struck out 45 in 41 innings while walking only 22.
Willie is a 6 foot 185 pound right handed pitcher who has just completed his junior year. Five times he has been named to the Big 12 Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
Willie is from Castroville, Texas where he attended Medina Valley H.S. He is the son of Frankie and Nadine Kempf.
The Generals are also announcing that Kenny Jackson has chosen to join them for their innaugural season. Kenny just finished a 2 year stint at Alvin and will be attending Texas A & M in the fall. Kenny is from Corpus Christi where he attended King High School. He was MVP, 1st team all district his senior year. Kenny has spent the past two years playing a big part in the Alvin Dolphins success.
Another superb pick up by Head Coach Chris Clemons, happens to be another from Alvin’s successful baseball squad. Chris Pena is a LHP who is headed for Texas A&M/Corpus Christi in his hometown. He attended Miller H.S. there.
