NCBWA/D3baseball.com poll week 12 – Final Regular Season Poll

MINNEAPOLIS – The D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top 25 media poll was released just before the start of the NCAA Division III tournament and Salisbury University moved up one spot to No. 2. The Sea Gulls (37-6) garnered three first-place votes and 575 total points.

Pomona-Pitzer College (35-5) took control of the No. 1 spot for the first time this season as the Sagehens amassed 15 first-place votes and 595 total points. Eastern Connecticut State University (35-6) moved from No. 4 to No. 3 as the Warriors collected five first-place votes and 572 points. Heidelberg University (36-7) ascended from No. 5 to No. 4 as the Knights received one first-place vote and 523 points. The Bantams of Trinity (Conn.) College (29-5) round out the top five as they received 511 total points

Keystone (Pa.) College (37-4) moved from No. 8 to No. 9 and for the second consecutive week the Knights received one first-place votes and 452 points.

The Sea Gulls are set to open up play on Wednesday, May 13, in the NCAA Tournament South Regional hosted at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium in Salisbury, Md. The Gulls are the top-seed in the regional and welcome No. 17 and second-seed Shenandoah University (37-6). Several other teams in the regional received votes in this week’s poll including fourth-seed Christopher Newport University (24-11-2), fifth-seed Washington & Jefferson College (33-12) and seventh-seed Johns Hopkins University (24-14).
