PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior second baseman Adam Duvall of Louisville was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week after his strong offensive showing against No. 25 Ohio State and conference rival St. John’s. Senior righthanded pitcher Keith Cantwell of Seton Hall was named the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week following his complete game victory over Rutgers. This is the second time this season Cantwell has received the honor.

Duvall hit .583 (14-for-24) with four doubles, three home runs, seven RBI and 15 runs scored to help Louisville to a 4-1 week. He slugged a BIG EAST-best 1.125 in the five games, which included two wins against No. 25 Ohio State and a pair of road wins against St. John’s to keep Louisville alive in the race for the BIG EAST regular-season title entering the last week of conference play. Duvall began the week with a 5-for-6, two-home run effort in a 21-5 win against the Buckeyes and finished by going 4-for-6 with four runs scored in a 19-15 loss to St. John’s.

Cantwell delivered a clutch performance in a 3-2 win against Rutgers on May 9 to help the Pirates take two of three from the Scarlet Knights. After allowing two runs in the first inning, Cantwell was nearly flawless the rest of the way, working a complete game with 10 strikeouts and three walks. He finished the win by striking out the side in the ninth inning and struck out seven of the last nine batters he faced. Cantwell registered his BIG EAST-leading fifth complete game of the season and improved to 6-3 on the year.
