IRVING, Texas—Chase Anderson (Oklahoma) has been tabbed the Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Pitcher of the Week while his teammate Bryant Hernandez shares the Player of the Week honor with Kyle Colligan (Texas A&M) for games of April 20-26 in voting by a panel of media covering the conference.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Bryant Hernandez, Oklahoma, INF, Jr., 5-8, 170, Oxnard, Calif./St. Bonaventure

Hernandez hit safely in all four games last week, including two multiple-hit performances and two multiple-RBI games at No. 9 Baylor, which helped OU complete the series sweep. The Sooners’ shortstop hit .353 (6-for-17) on the week with two home runs, five runs and five RBI. Hernandez was also successful on his two stolen base attempts and walked twice for a .421 on-base percentage. He collected 13 total bases and slugged at a .765 clip.

Hernandez began the Baylor series with two hits and two RBI, including a two-run homer, on Friday in the Sooners’ 4-2 win. On Saturday, the junior added two more RBI off two hits, including his second homer of the series, and scored two runs in the 12-4 win. Hernandez connected for one more hit in the series finale on Sunday and finished the three-game series with a .353 batting average.

Kyle Colligan, Texas A&M, OF, Sr, 6-2, 205, Houston, Texas/Dulles HS

Colligan hit two home runs and drove in eight in a week that saw the Aggies take over first place in the Big 12. He added a double and five runs scored and drew five walks over the four games while slugging at a .923 clip and posting a .579 on-base percentage. His two-run shot on Sunday sparked A&M to a 6-4 win over Oklahoma State and a series victory over the Cowboys.

Colligan ranked among the league leaders in five categories last week — walks (second), home runs (third), RBI (third), on base percentage (sixth) and slugging percentage (eighth).

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Chase Anderson, Oklahoma, RHP, Jr., 6-1, 165, Wichita Falls, Texas/North Central JC

Anderson made three relief appearances and held Wichita State and No. 9 Baylor scoreless over 7 1/3 innings. The junior allowed just one hit in the three outings and struck out 10 batters, including nine strikeouts in the two appearances at Baylor, spanning 6 1/3 innings. On Sunday, Anderson shut out the Bears and gave up one hit in 4 1/3 innings and recorded his first win of the season. In game two at Baylor, Anderson pitched two perfect innings to help OU secure the series victory. In the three games, opponents hit .042 against Anderson, which led the Big 12 last week, and allowed just three base runners. Anderson leads the Sooners with 20 appearances and ranks in the top 10 in the Big 12 Conference.
