SAN MARCOS – Texas State baseball head coach Ty Harrington has announced the signing of left-handed pitcher Lee Colon to a National Letter of Intent this afternoon.

“Lee is an outstanding competitor and will come into this program with a great amount of drive and talent,” said recruiting coordinator Derek Matlock. “With the loss of some key senior players next season, he will be able to step right in and have an immediate impact.”

Colon comes to Texas State after competing one season at Temple College. The sophomore is 8-0 in his current year with the Leopards and holds a 1.27 ERA while striking out 50 batters.

The 5-10, 180-pound pitcher was a three-year letterwinner at Del Valle High School under head coach Rudy Villanueva. The southpaw earned District 17-4A 2nd-team honors in his sophomore season and followed the campaign with first-team honors his junior year. In his final season with the Cardinals, Colon was named the District’s Most Valuable Player.
