WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — Washington junior outfielder Kyle Conley has been named the Pac-10 Baseball Player of the Week and UCLA sophomore left-handed pitcher Rob Rasmusen has been named Pitcher of the Week for Apr. 6 – 12, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Last week, Conley hit .688 (11-for-16), including three home runs and five doubles as the Huskies split a two-game series at Gonzaga and swept California at home in Pac-10 play. The Richland, Wash., native registered nine runs, nine RBI, drew eight walks and stole a base in the five games. He had an on-base percentage of .792 and slugged 1.563. Against the Bears on Apr. 10, the junior went 3-for-3 with three runs, five RBI and two homers, including a grand slam. Conley continues to lead the Conference in home runs (13) and ranks second in slugging percentage (.779) on the season.

This is Conley’s second weekly honor this season and the fourth of his career. It is the 58th player of the week accolade all-time for Washington.

Rasmussen went 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA and one save in his two appearances last week for UCLA. He allowed just one run and four hits in six innings of relief pitching. The Arcadia, Calif., native limited fifth-ranked UC Irvine to one run and three hits in three innings on Apr. 7 to earn the win. He struck out three batters and did not issue a walk against the Anteaters. At Stanford on Apr. 10, Rasmussen only allowed one hit and totaled five strikeouts in three scoreless innings of relief to pick up his first collegiate save.
