The No. 9 Texas Longhorns logged their highest run total of the season to topple the Nebraska Cornhuskers, 11-7, in the second game of a Big 12 Conference baseball doubleheader at Hawks Field on Friday evening.

The win gave Texas a sweep of the twin bill and gave the Horns nine wins in their last 11 games.

Texas (23-8, 8-6 Big 12 Conference) scored multiple runs in each of its first four at-bats to take a 10-0 lead. The first inning featured a two-run double by Tant Shepherd. Michael Torres hit a two-run single and Shepherd drove in a run with a groundout in the second. A solo home run by Cameron Rupp keyed a three-run third. Doubles by Shepherd and Kevin Keyes to lead off the frame and a sacrifice fly by Preston Clark gave the Horns a 10-run lead.

Nebraska (16-17-1, 4-10 Big 12) cut the lead in half with five runs in the bottom half of the fourth. The Cornhuskers scored earned runs on a single by D.J. Belfonte and a sacrifice fly by Cory Burleson. After an error by Torres at third with two outs allowed the inning to continue, Cody Asche hit a three-run double to shave UT’s advantage to 10-5.

The Cornhuskers tacked on two more runs in the fifth with a throwing error on an attempted inning-ending double play turn allowed a pair to score, trimming the lead to 10-7.

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Brooks Raley threw his second career complete game to lead No. 15 Texas A&M to a 4-2, come-from-behind win over Kansas State before 713 fans Friday in the first game of a doubleheader at Tointon Family Stadium.

Raley struck out 11, one shy of his career high, and allowed the league’s second-best offense just three hits on the day. With the victory the Aggies improved to 21-12 and 8-5 in Big 12 play, while the Wildcats saw a three-game win streak snapped as they fell to 24-9 and 5-5.

It took a clutch eighth-inning rally, however, to help the Aggies earn their league-leading eighth conference win of the year.

Trailing 2-0 and entering the top of the eighth, Kevin Gonzalez began the rally with a leadoff double to right center that chased KSU starter Lance Hoge. The next batter, pinch-hitter Brett Parsons, hit a hard ground ball up the middle that was knocked down behind the second-base bag. The infield single set A&M up with runners on the corners and no outs.

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Junior Shaeffer Hall tossed his second complete game of the season, while junior Robby Price backed him with three hits as Kansas downed No. 17 Oklahoma State, 8-1 Friday in the opener of the teams’ three-game Big 12 baseball series at Hoglund Ballpark.

The Jayhawks, who won their 16th game at home, improved to 21-12 overall and 5-5 in the conference. The Cowboys fell to 21-12 and 4-6 in the Big 12.

Hall was the story of Friday night’s game, recording his second complete game of the season, allowing a run on five hits with no walks and a career-high nine strikeouts. He retired the lead-off hitter in every inning, and set down 10 in a row at one point in the game.

Oklahoma State did not put a base runner into scoring position until Tyrone Hambly’s one-out double in the sixth inning. Hall made just one mistake, a solo home run by Doug Kroll, but was dominate against the team which had scored the second-most runs in the Big 12 this season.
