HITTER OF THE WEEK

Bo Bell, OF, Jr., Mississippi College

Mississippi College junior outfielder Bo Bell (Gulfport,MS / Miss. Gulf Coast CC) went 9-for-15 with four home runs, two doubles and 16 RBIs to pace a 5-0 week that included an East Division sweep of East Texas Baptist. Bell, who takes the division’s top weekly hitting award for the second time this season, walked four times and scored 11 runs.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Brett Holland, RHP, Sr., Texas-Tyler

Texas-Tyler senior right-hander Brett Holland ( Lindale,TX / LHS) tossed a complete game with 12 strikeouts to beat LeTourneau in an East Division game. Holland scattered six hits over the seven frames and allowed just one run. He walked only one batter

HITTER OF THE WEEK

James Gage, 1B, Sr., Hardin-Simmons

Hardin-Simmons senior first baseman James Gage ( Lewisville,TX / LHS) went 10-for-16 with two home runs, a double and nine RBIs to pace the Cowboys to a 3-1 week, including a West Division sweep of Howard Payne. Gage, who hit both his homers against HPU and had at least two hits in all four games, also scored six times.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Jared Hopper, RHP, So., Mary Hardin-Baylor

Mary Hardin-Baylor sophomore right-hander Jared Hopper ( Kingswood,TX / Northeast Christian HS) tossed a complete game with 13 strikeouts and just three hits allowed to defeat Schreiner in the opener of a West Division series. He allowed just one unearned run and did not walk a batter. Hopper, who takes the division’s top weekly pitching award for the second time this season, was perfect through the first five innings.

HITTERS: Texas Lutheran 3B Jeremy Macklin went 7-for-12 with a home rand four RBIs over a sweep of Sul Ross State. . . . McMurry 2B Tre Lips went 7-for-13 with three doubles, a homer and seven RBIs over a sweep of Concordia Texas. . . . Mary Hardin-Baylor C Ryan Moreau went 4-for-7 with two walks over a 2-1 series win against Schreiner. . . . Howard Payne 1B Blake Shaffer went 5-for-8 with two doubles, a homer and five RBIs over three losses. . . . Schreiner 1B Oscar Ibieta had a home run, two walks and three RBIs over a 1-2 week. . . . LeTourneau OF Ed Hurta went 12-for-24 with two homers and eight RBIs over a 3-3 week. . . . Texas-Tyler OF Kendall Fox went 5-for-8 with six walks in a sweep of LeTourneau. . . . Ozarks C Jeremy Hogan had three homers and nine RBIs over a 3-1 week. . . . Texas-Dallas 2B Jacob Starnes went 5-for-11 with a triple and three RBIs over two wins.

PITCHERS: Schreiner RHP J.P. Garcia tossed 8 2/3 innings of shutout relief to get the win against UMHB. . . . McMurry LHP Kyle Martin went 8 2/3 innings with seven strikeouts and one unearned run to beat CTX. . . . Texas Lutheran RHP Jeremy Macklin tossed five shutout innings and allowed just three hits to beat SRSU in his first start of the season. . . . Mississippi College RHP Tyler Seaman allowed just one run over six innings to beat ETBU. . . . Ozarks RHP Todd Koch struck out eight batters over six innings to defeat Louisiana College. . . . Texas-Dallas RHP Max Willard tossed five shutout innings and allowed just two hits to defeat Austin College.
