#1 Lubbock Christian swept three games against Northwestern Oklahoma State, and none of them were close. Next up for the Chaparrals is the U. of Science and Arts of Oklahoma April 3-4.
#2 Oklahoma City swept three games against Saint Gregory’s, and won one games against Bacone. The Stars play Oklahoma Baptist away and home April 2 and 4.
#3 Southern Polytechnic swept three games against #15 Lee. IF Jake Barrow is hitting .494 for the Hornets, RHP Sean Teague is 3-0, 0.67 ERA. The Hornets visit Faulkner April 3-4.
#4 Point Loma Nazarene won three of four, defeating Concordia-Irvine twice, and splitting with Biola 7-9 and 11-0. Andrew Bovich got a complete seven-inning shutout in the second game, allowed three hits, struck out two. His record for the season is 6-0, 1.65 ERA. The Sea Lions continue to hold first place in the Golden State Athletic Conference. They play San Diego Christian home and away April 1-2, visit Westmont April 4, and visit San Francisco State April 6-7.
The Sea Lions retained the #1 spot in Boyd Nation’s Iterative Strength Rating. Their strength of schedule ranking is #6; Concordia-Irvine is #1 in strength of schedule, Lubbock Christian is #28, Oklahoma City is #25, and Southern Polytechnic is #19.
#5 LSU-Shreveport split two high-scoring games with Belhaven, and lost a double-header to Texas Wesleyan (#69 in the ISR rating). Texas Wesleyan’s Blake Walker went 3-3 with a home run and five RBI in the first game. The Pilots visit William Carey April 3-4.
#6 Azusa Pacific defeated #18 The Master’s in a game that went ten innings, and split with Concordia-Irvine. The Cougars visit #24 Fresno Pacific April 1-2, and San Diego Christian April 4. They play an exhibion game against the Class A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes on April 7.
#7 Union (KY) swept three games against King, two of them shutouts, the first one a complete game for Chaz Bargo. Lance Dougherty and Jason Parsons combined for the second shutout. The Bulldogs visit Georgetown College on April 1, host Berea on April 2, and visit Virgina Intermont April 4-5.
#8 Campbellsville lost a game toLindsey Wilson, defeated U. of the Cumberlands, and split with #20 Trevecca Nazarene. The Tigers host Cumberland April 1, and West Virginia Tech April 3-4.
#9 Lewis-Clark State swept three games against Corban. The Warriors visit Division III Linfield April 1, Concordia-Portland April 2, and Division II Saint Martin’s April 3-5.
#10 Madonna won three out of four against Davenport. The Crusaders play Indiana Tech home and away April 4-5.
