EAST DIVISION

HITTER OF THE WEEK

Jared Smith, OF, Sr., Texas-Dallas

Texas-Dallas senior outfielder Jared Smith (New Caney, TX / Tyler JC) went 7-for-15 with three home runs, two doubles and 12 RBIs over four games. Smith also scored six runs, walked three times and stole two bases. One of his homers was a grand slam in an East Division win over Mississippi College.

CO-PITCHERS OF THE WEEK

Bruce Cameron, RHP, Sr., Ozarks

Ozarks senior right-hander Bruce Cameron (Houston, TX / Episcopal HS) got the win over nationally-ranked Texas-Tyler by tossing a complete game with just three hits allowed and four strikeouts. Cameron, who allowed just one run to cross the plate over seven innings, worked out of a jam in his final inning by striking out two straight batters with runners in scoring position.

Chase Willard, LHP, So., East Texas Baptist

East Texas Baptist sophomore left-hander Chase Willard ( Celina, TX / CHS) tossed his first career complete game in a victory over East Division team LeTourneau, striking out seven batters and allowing just one run over nine innings of work. Willard scattered nine hits and also secured the Tigers their first ASC series win of the season,

HITTER OF THE WEEK

Ryan Nokelby, OF, Jr., Texas Lutheran

Texas Lutheran junior outfielder Ryan Nokelby ( Santa Fe, TX / SFHS) went 10-for-15 with a triple, a double and six RBIs to fuel a West Division series sweep of Howard Payne. Nokelby, who recorded two four-hit games, scored three runs and stole a base.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Michael Johnson, RHP, Jr., Concordia Texas

Concordia Texas junior right-hander Michael Johnson (Bellaire, TX / BHS) tossed a complete game with 15 strikeouts and did not walk a batter to defeat Sul Ross State on the road in a West Division game. Johnson, who takes the division’s top weekly pitching award for the second time this season, scattered five hits and allowed just one run over nine innings.

HITTERS: Concordia Texas INF Micah Runnels went 9-for-16 with eight RBIs to fuel a sweep of Sul Ross State. . . . Hardin-Simmons SS Brian Weeks went 9-for-21 with a home run over a 3-2 stretch. . . . Schreiner 3B JD Escobar went 7-for-11 over a series with HSU. . . Mary Hardin-Baylor OF Andrew White went 6-for-14 in a series win over McMurry. . . . Howard Payne OF Taylor Zambreski went 6-for-11 with three doubles over three losses. . . . LeTourneau OF Ed Hurta went 10-for-17 with a homer over four games. . . . Louisiana College OF David Roux went 4-for-9 with a homer and six RBIs over three games. . . . East Texas Baptist OF Kyle Pope went 8-for-18 with a homer and a triple over five games. . . . Mississippi College OF Bo Bell scored six runs and had five hits in a series win over UTD. . . . Ozarks OF Andrew Teaster went 6-for-9 with three RBIs over three games. . . . PITCHERS: Schreiner RHP Colton Hermes fanned nine batters over six innings in a win over Hardin-Simmons. . . . .Mary Hardin-Baylor RHP Jared Hopper had eight strikeouts over 7 1/3 innings to beat McMurry. . . . Texas Lutheran RHP Jeremiah Steinert had seven strikeouts and allowed just one earned run over 6 2/3 innings of relief. . . . Howard Payne RHP Billy Ray Cruz had six strikeouts and allowed just one earned run in a loss to TLU. . . . Hardin-Simmons RHP Tim Kriegel went 1-1 with 15 strikeouts over 16 innings of work. . . . Mississippi College RHP Brett Hinson struck out seven batter over seven innings in a win over UTD. . . . Texas- Tyler RHP Beau Ziegler went 1-0 with a save over three relief appearances and struck out eight of the 12 batters he faced. . . . . LeTourneau RHP Ed Hurta allowed just three runs over eight innings to beat ETBU. . . . Louisiana College RHP Justin Lacy tossed five shutout innings out of the bullpen with five strikeouts.
