Ouachita Baptist drops fourth straight, falls to Harding 4-2

SEARCY, Ark. – The 28th-ranked Ouachita Baptist University baseball team suffered its fourth straight Gulf South Conference West Division loss Saturday, falling 4-2 to Harding at Jerry Moore Field.

The Tigers (21-11 overall, 0-4 GSC West) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning as Ouachita took advantage of a error as Blake Lockwood scored on a JoeDan Poulter double to left.

However, Harding (16-15, 2-2) plated a run in the third to tie the contest at 1.

Ouachita scored a run in the fifth as Will Gowdy doubled to left-center and scored on a Brock Green single through the right side to give the Tigers a 2-1 advantage.

But the Bisons wouldn’t go away, plating three runs in the sixth to get the 4-2 win.

Chase Baran fell to 3-3 on the season as he went six innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on three hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Sean O’Rourke pitched two innings, giving up a hit, while fanning one.

Troy Keith (4-3) got the victory, pitching seven strong innings for the Bisons. He gave up two runs (one earned), while scattering seven hits with three walks and six strikeouts. Dakota Gardner and Josh Creveling pitched in relief.
