#2 North Carolina 7 Virginia Tech 3
BLACKSBURG, Va. – Freshman Levi Michael belted a go-ahead three-run home run in the seventh inning and drove in a career-best five runs to send No. 1 North Carolina to a 7-3 win over Virginia Tech Friday in an Atlantic Coast Conference series opener at English Field. All-America Dustin Ackley added three hits and homered for the fourth time in the last three games for the Tar Heels (13-2, 3-1 ACC).
Carolina All-America right-hander Alex White (3-0) fanned eight and allowed three runs (two earned) over six innings to claim his 22nd career victory. He scattered five hits and four walks and kept the Hokies off the scoreboard until the sixth. Colin Bates fanned four over the final three innings to earn his second save.
Michael, who has 11 RBI in the last four games, drove in his first with an RBI fielder’s choice in the fifth, hit the key three-run homer in the seventh and followed with an RBI double in the eighth. He finished the afternoon 2-for-5 with two runs to go along with the five RBI.
# 7 Miami (FL) 5 Duke 4
DURHAM, N.C. – Scott Lawson drove in the game-winning run with a walk-off double in the bottom of the ninth inning to give No. 6 Miami a 5-4 win over Duke Friday evening at Mark Light Field.
Lawson’s double to the warning track in right field scored teammate Jonathan Weislow, who started the ninth-inning rally with a one-out single for his first hit of the ball game. The game-winning double capped a comeback for the Hurricanes (13-2, 4-0 ACC), who trailed 4-1 until tying the score at 4-4 in the fifth inning on a two-run double by Hermann and an RBI base knock by Harold Martinez.
Miami’s bullpen duo of Taylor Wulf and Kyle Bellamy (2-0) combined to hold Duke to one hit over the final three innings, cleaning up after a six-inning outing from starter Chris Hernandez. Bellamy notched the win after coming into the game in the ninth in place of Wulf, who did not give up a hit over his two innings of work.

#8 Georgia Tech 5 Boston College 4
ATLANTA – Andrew Robinson shut the door on an eighth-inning Boston College rally to help No. 6 Georgia Tech (12-1, 4-0 ACC) edge the Eagles, 5-4, in a three-game series opener at Russ Chandler Stadium.
The win was the Yellow Jackets’ ninth-straight, and dropped the Eagles to 10-4 on the season and 2-2 in conference play.
Boston College scored a pair of unearned runs in the top of the eighth inning before reliever Zach Brewster entered the game and struck out Mike Sudol on three pitches for the first out of the frame

#26 Virginia 15 #14 Florida State 2
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 18 Virginia baseball team recorded its school-record 15th-consecutive win and remained undefeated with a 15-2 victory over No. 18 Florida State Friday night at Davenport Field. Freshman Danny Hultzen (Bethesda, Md.) stole the show with a career-high 13 strikeouts in seven innings as he improved to 4-0 this year.
Virginia (15-0, 4-0 ACC) continued its best start in school history while posting its largest margin of victory ever over Florida State. The previous high was 11 in 1996 and 2004. The Cavaliers now have scored 62 runs in their four ACC contests.
UVa’s 15-game winning streak is the longest active streak in the nation. Virginia and Georgia are the lone remaining undefeated teams this year in Division I.

Game 1: #21 Clemson 4 Wake Forest 1
Kyle Parker’s two-run homer in the sixth inning gave the Tigers the lead as #22 Clemson posted a 4-1 victory over Wake Forest in the first game of a doubleheader at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Friday.
The teams will play the second game of the doubleheader and three-game series on Friday afternoon at approximately 2:10 PM.
Tomas Cruz (2-1) recorded the win for the Tigers, who improved to 9-4 on the year and 2-2 in the ACC. The junior righthander pitched 3.0 scoreless innings in relief of Trey Delk, who struck out a career-high eight batters in 5.2 innings pitched. Will Lamb earned his first career save after coaxing a flyball out off the bat of Michael Murray to end the game.

Game 2: #21 Clemson 6 Wake Forest 1
Kyle Parker went 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBIs to lead #22 Clemson to a 6-1 victory over Wake Forest in game-two of a doubleheader at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Friday afternoon. The Tigers, who took a 2-0 series lead, improved to 10-4 overall and 3-2 in ACC play, while Wake Forest dropped to 7-7 overall and 0-5 in the ACC.
Parker, who was 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs in the first game of the doubleheader on Friday, went 6-for-9 with two homers, three runs, and six RBIs on the day. The last time Parker played against the Demon Deacons in Winston-Salem in 2008, he went 5-for-5 with three homers, five runs, and seven RBIs in the series-finale. Therefore in his last three games against the Demon Deacons, Parker is 11-for-14 (.786) with five homers, eight runs, and 13 RBIs.
The Tigers, who outhit Wake Forest 13-10, were also paced by freshman designated hitter Richard Mounce, who went 3-for-4 with an RBI in just his second career start. Mike Freeman added three hits and two runs as well. Micah Jarrett had two hits and the Demon Deacons’ lone RBI.
