MINNEAPOLIS – The D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Top 25 poll was released on March 10 and Salisbury University remains in the top spot for a third straight week.

Salisbury (14-1, 5-1 Capital Athletic Conference) received 19 first-place votes out of 25 and received 614 points. The Gulls have been ranked No. 1 since the week one poll that came out on February 24.

Trinity (Conn.), the reigning national champions, held onto its spot at No. 2 as the Bantams received five first-place votes and 588 points. Texas-Tyler (13-3) jumped from No. 7 to No. 3 with 499 points. Kean (6-1) remains at No. 4 for the second consecutive week receiving 485 votes. Johns Hopkins falls from No. 3 to No. 5 after falling to Rutgers-Newark 14-11 on Saturday, March 7.

No. 12 Millsaps College (16-1) received the final first-place and 346 points for the week. SUNY Cortland (2-3) stays at No. 15 for the second consecutive week. SU defeated the previous No. 1 Dragons on February 20, 2-1, at Sea Gull Field.

Two CAC schools received votes in this week’s poll as York (Pa.) College received seven points and Stevenson University notched one point.

SU is slated to play two teams that are ranked in the Top 25 and one team that received votes this season. The Gulls will travel to No. 19 Christopher Newport University on April 24 and then host the Captains the next day April 25 at Sea Gull Field. On April 28, Salisbury will travel to Baltimore and go up against No. 5 Johns Hopkins.
