  • The senior right fielder hit for the cycle in one game, had two game-wininng RBI, including a walk-off 10th inning blast, and tied the school record with a home run in five straight games, as UA posted a 4-0 record last week.
  • In his last five games, over the last seven calendar days, Matthes was 11-for-20 (.500) with six home runs and 15 RBI and a whopping 1.650 slugging mark. He has also added 11 runs, two doubles and one triple in the last seven days. He had a two home run game against Southeast Missouri State on Sunday, Feb. 22.PITCHER OF THE WEEK

  • Ross fired six shutout innings in Sunday’s win over UCF, allowing just two hits while recording no walks and a career-best 10 strikeouts … The win completed the sweep for No. 1 LSU. Ross fired 81 pitches during his outing, and he did not allow a UCF runner to advance beyond first base.
  • Ross is 2-0 on the year with a 0.75 ERA; in 12 innings, he has allowed one run on six hits with one walk and 14 strikeouts.FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

  • Westlake was a torrid 10-for-15 (.667) in five games on the week with three doubles, three RBI and six runs scored. He walked three times and struck out just once. He had a .867 slugging percentage and .684 on base percentage.
  • Westlake started behind the plate for the first time in his career at any level on Saturday against Vermont. He did not make an error on the week in 27 chances and he caught a no-hitter for 6.2 innings in his first start at catcher.
