The Oklahoma City Stars defeated Bacone 14-3 today. David Mann went 4-for-5 with a stolen base and three runs scored; LHP Ashur Tolliver got his fourth win of the season.

This win was number 1,000 for Head Coach Denney Crabaugh, who is in his 21st season at Oklahoma City. Details at the Oklahoma City athletics site: OCU’s Crabaugh gets 1,000th career win

The Stars are 14-0 on the season, and took the #1 national ranking in the first Coaches’ poll of the season, released on Tuesday. (See NAIA Top 25 and Recap for February 24.)

Crabaugh’s career record is 1,000-313-2. The Stars won the NAIA national championship in 2005, and they have finished in the top three six other times. They were runners-up in 2002, 2003, and 2004. Their record in 2004 was 73-7. The 73 wins is an NAIA record. A limit of 55 regular season games was put in effect the following season, so this is a record that will stand for a long time.
