Texas-Tyler senior outfielder Jared Hood ( Marshall, TX / MHS) went 6-for-13 with three home runs, one double and five RBIs over a 4-0 stretch that included a sweep of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Hood, who hit two long balls in one game against UMHB, scored six runs and walked twice.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Brett Hinson, RHP, Sr., Mississippi College
Mississippi College senior right-hander Brett Hinson ( Vidalia, MS / Miss. Delta CC) struck out 13 batters and allowed just one run over seven innings of work to get the win over Howard Payne. Hinson scattered four hits and walked just one.

Kyle Harvey, OF, Sr., Texas Lutheran
Texas Lutheran senior outfielder Kyle Harvey (Houston, TX / Houston Christian) went 10-for-16 with two home runs, three doubles, a triple and seven RBIs over a four-game stretch. Harvey, who is batting .524 on the season, also stole three bases, walked three times and scored nine runs.

Sam Walker, LHP, So., Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons sophomore left-hander Sam Walker ( Abilene, TX / AHS) struck out seven batters and allowed just one run over seven innings of work to get the win against East Texas Baptist. Walker, who scattered four hits, allowed a solo home run in the first innings but did not allow a runner past second base after that.

Hardin-Simmons SS Brian Weeks batted .467 with three triples and a double over a three-game sweep of East Texas Baptist. . . . Schreiner 3B JD Escobar batted .462 over a series win against LeTourneau. . . . Texas-Dallas C Adam Hudec went 4-for-9 with two homers and seven RBIs in a three-game sweep of Texas Lutheran. . . . East Texas Baptist OF Cody Jones went 7-for-9 with a two home runs and a double over three losses. . . . Louisiana College RHP Marcus Howell got the win over Concordia Texas after allowing just two runs in seven innings. . . . East Texas Baptist RHP Matt Schimpf struck out seven over five innings in a loss to HSU.
