The opening weekend of the 2009 Conference USA baseball season is in the books. As a league, C-USA got off to a good start, going 19-10 overall, with six teams posting winning records and another going .500. East Carolina and Southern Miss made it through the first weekend unscathed, going 3-0 against Monmouth and Lehigh, respectively.

Tulane was 3-1 in its home series against LeMoyne, splitting a Saturday doubleheader. Memphis posted a pair of wins against Kansas at the Service Academies Classic, UAB won the first two games against Radford before dropping a one-run decision in the series finale and UCF took two-of-three from Virginia Commonwealth.

Marshall knocked off Akron and Old Dominion to start the season before falling to ODU and Wake Forest. Houston and Rice were the only C-USA squads that lost an opening weekend series, each dropping two-of-three to Kansas State and Cal Poly, respectively.
