Tigers to open new Box against Villanova tonight
For the LSU baseball program, the first day of a highly anticipated future arrives today with the debut of a state-of-the-art stadium.
At the same time, the Tigers bring proud echoes from the past with them into the 2009 season, the residual impact of a memorable finish to last season that LSU rode all the way to its home away from home for the first time in four years.
The Tigers’ new home, the sparkling, new Alex Box Stadium, will be officially unveiled today when LSU entertains Villanova to start a three-game season-opening series.
