Senior RHP Bobby Gagg has been granted a waiver by the Big South conference making him eligible for the 2009 season. He has a career record of 22-6 with a 2.90 ERA and 187 strikeouts in 273.1 innings over his first three seasons with the Chanticleers. His true breakout season was in 2007 when he went 12-2 with a 2.57 ERA and 84 strikeouts. He picked up Big South Pitcher of the Year and was named a Second-team All-American by Collegiate Baseball.
