ARLINGTON, Texas- The UT Arlington baseball team had a successful fall semester in the classroom with 34 student-athletes recording a 3.183 team grade point average. The Mavericks marked their third straight semester with over a 3.0 team GPA and had 22 student-athletes make the Athletic Department Academic Honor Roll while tallying at least a 3.0 GPA.
“Our coaching staff is extremely pleased that our team has set high standards for themselves in the classroom,” second-year head coach Darin Thomas said. “They have gone out and achieved those standards three straight semesters.”
Thomas, who was named head coach of the Mavericks in November of 2007, has monitored the Mavericks’ academic progress to a tune of 53 selections to the UT Arlington Athletic Department Academic Honor Roll the past three semesters.
