I know we don’t usually discuss the ins and outs of scouting but Amalie Benjamin of The Boston Globe has an excellent article about the scouting department of the Boston Red Sox. The article discusses how the Red Sox evaluate talent and how hard certain scouts work. One example stated in the article was how the Red Sox were staking out former Vanderbilt recruit Ryan Westmoreland games in Rhode Island before selecting him in the second round. Watch out for Chris Dwyer. He is a lefty pitcher from New England..Swampscott, Mass. He Played at Salisbury and now a pitcher at Clemson U. He is a fierce competitor and will make a difference. Clemson is lucky to have him as he was recruited heavily and decided wisely. Currently a 3.5 average 1st semester average. Go Tigers!!!
