Bauer heading to UCLA early

UCLA will have a 17 year old on the pitching staff in 2009 with Trevor Bauer competing for a spot. He is a 6-1 175 pound righthander from Hart High School who dominated in his junior season. He finished the year with a 12-0 record while accumulating a 0.79 ERA in 70.2 innings where he also struck out 106 batters with 15 walks. He tossed four shutouts while striking out a career high 16 against West Torrence. Bauer is not the first high profile high school player to head to college early as the most recent case was Robert Stock of Southern Cal.
