USA Baseball announced today the final three members of Rick Jones coaching staff for the 2009 USA Baseball National Team. They have added Wright State’s Rob Cooper, Elon’s Mike Kennedy, and Louisville’s Dan McDonnell. Rob Cooper worked with Rick Jones with the 2007 USA National Team and was at Tulane with Jones in 1997-1998 when he served as the hitting coach. Cooper is currently starting his fifth season with Wright State. Elon’s Mike Kennedy played under Rick Jones at Elon from 1988-89. Kennedy is currently entering his 13th season in charge of the Phoenix where he is the all-time wins leader. The final member of the coaching staff is Louisville’s Dan McDonnell. He is entering his third season in charge of the Cardinals program where he led them to the College World Series in 2007. We recently sat down with Dan to discuss his 2009 Cardinals squad.
