Naval Academy alum Jonathan Johnston was recently called to duty by the Navy ending his minor league baseball career. He was called into action on June 10th when his commanding officer left a voicemail on his phone. He was promptly shipped out and now is currently somewhere with his exact location not known due to security reasons. Jeff Passan has a great article with Johnston that can be read by clicking here.

That is a great story and even though his baseball dreams are pretty much over, he is a true American hero. Now unlike the past, a young kid with dreams of playing pro ball won’t even consider Army or Navy. How is this going to effect they’re recruiting?
