CHARLESTON, S.C. — Nine games against NCAA Regional participants from last season and 27 home games highlight the 2009 College of Charleston baseball schedule.

“We are excited about our schedule,” said head coach Monte Lee, who enters his first season as the Cougars skipper. “We are playing several top programs that consistently compete in the NCAA Postseason. I want our players to compete against the best teams in the nation and to give our fans an exciting brand of baseball to watch.

“I believe playing these programs will help prepare us for competing in the SoCon and in our quest to reach the postseason.”

The Cougars begin the season playing 13 of their first 16 games at home, starting with their season opener from Feb. 20-22 against Miami (OH).

The Cougars embark on a four-game road swing that will see them play four games against teams that qualified for last season’s NCAA Tournament.
