LAS VEGAS – Behind the strong pitching of Matt Hutchison, the Black team earned another win on Wednesday in the Red-Black World Series, which is being played at Earl E. Wilson Stadium.
Hutchison did not give up a hit in 3.1 innings of work as the Black team won 7-1, improving to 3-1 in the seven-game series with the Red team. He did allow one run, however, as he walked five batters to go along with three strikeouts.
Trent Fuller had a pair of hits and drove in two runs to pace the Black squad, which had 10 hits as a team. Thomas Whitsett pitched the final 3.2 innings for the Black team, striking out four and allowing just one hit the rest of the way, a single off the bat of Anthony Morel.
All scrimmages and practices are open to the public and fans will be able to get a first look at the new scoreboard at Wilson Stadium, which was recently installed.
