The Naples News has an article about the 2009 Florida Gulf Coast University releasing their 2009 schedule. The highlights of the schedule is the home opener on February 20th at 12:01am against Central Michigan. They will play CMU later that day at 8pm to get an early jump on the season. A couple of other highlights are visits from ACC member Boston College, Big Ten member Penn State, and a visit by instate rival Florida that will be played at Hammond Stadium which is the spring training home for the Minnesota Twins. They will visit both Miami (FL) and FSU with the Hurricanes returning the trip in the 2010 campaign. The Eagles will not be eligible for postseason play until the 2010 season as they are on their final season of reclassifying to Division 1.
