University of Nevada Fall World Series Update

Reno, Nev. – The white team defeated the blue squad 8-6 on Monday morning at Peccole Park in game three of the University of Nevada baseball teams Blue versus White series that will conclude fall practice. The win was the first for the white team in the series as they trail 2-1 after dropped the first two games last Thursday and Friday by scores of 16-8 and 7-5 respectively.

Freshman right-hander Jason McClaren allowed two runs on three hits to earn the win for the white team. Sophomore lefty Brock Stassi picked up the save pitching two innings of shut out baseball. Junior Dan Tinlin was tagged with the loss after giving up six runs in his three innings of action.

Three Pack sophomores were the hitting stars for the white team. Designated hitter Matt Lagenfield went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI to lead the white team. Center fielder Waylen Sing Chow and second baseman Nick Leid were both 2-for-4 at the plate.

Senior third baseman Tyson Jaquez continues to terrorize the white pitching staff as he was 3-for-5 with an RBI. Jaquez is 8-for-12 with five RBI and three doubles in the first three games of the series. Blue center fielder Westley Moss also had three hits and scored a run in today’s game.

A pair of freshmen, Jacob Anderson for the white team and Brandon Petrangelo for the blue squad are the scheduled starters for Tuesday’s game four. The game will begin
