Lamar Fall World Series Game 2 Recap

The Red team managed just three hits but they were enough for a 3-2 win in the second game of the Lamar Fall World Series on Tuesday. The Red now leads the best-of-five series 2-0 and can clinch the title on Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Vincent-Beck Stadium.

Senior second baseman Brian Taylor had two of the three hits for the Red squad as he went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Junior outfielder Tyler Link went 1-for-2 with a double and two runs scored.

The Red scored one run in the first and two in the fifth to take a 3-0 lead.

Senior outfielder Anthony Moore and freshman infielder Aaron McFarland led the Gray with two hits apiece, while junior catcher Joey Latulippe drove in both runs in the top of the seventh to account for the final score.

Junior transfer Guillermo Cienfuegos earned the win as he scattered three hits over 4.1 innings while striking out six. Another junor college transfer, Cory Holley, earned the save.
