Holy Cross Baseball Announces 2009 Schedule

Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan Jr. and head baseball coach Greg DiCenzo have announced the Crusaders’ schedule for the 2009 season, which kicks off on Feb. 28, when the Crusaders travel to Los Angeles, Calif. to face Loyola Marymount University in a doubleheader.

Holy Cross continues its competition against LMU with a game at 1:00 p.m. on March 1. The Crusaders will play at Arizona (Mar. 3-4) and then travel to Arizona State (Mar. 5-7) for three games. For its first action of the season at Fitton Field, Holy Cross will host Marist on Mar. 10. The next three games will be played at Towson (Mar. 14-15), following a five-game home stand hosting a doubleheader against Bryant (Mar. 17), Yale (Mar. 20), and two games versus Quinnipiac and Yale (Mar. 21). The Crusaders return to the road for their next two games, traveling to Quinnipiac (Mar. 22) and Connecticut (Mar. 24). The next six games will be played at home, hosting Boston College (Mar. 25), two doubleheaders against Lehigh (Mar. 28-29) and Massachusetts (Mar. 31).

Holy Cross will face host Harvard (Apr. 1) followed by heading to Army for two doubleheaders in Patriot League play (Apr. 4-5) and closing out the road trip with a game against Hartford (Apr. 8). The Crusaders will host Bucknell in two league doubleheaders (Apr. 11-12) and then travel to Central Connecticut (Apr. 14), followed by a game at Dartmouth (Apr. 15). Patriot League plays continues for Holy Cross as they travel to Lafayette for two doubleheaders (Apr. 18-19). Holy Cross will travel to Maine for its’ final road game (Apr. 21), played at Sanford, Maine. The Crusaders conclude their regular season play hosting seven games including a doubleheader with Brown (Apr. 22), two league doubleheaders against Navy (Apr. 25-26) and finishing with Rhode Island (Apr. 28).

The Patriot League Tournament is scheduled for May 9-10 and 16-17, with locations to be determined.
