TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The fall baseball season came to a close on Friday evening as Garnet bounced back following Thursday night’s loss to claim a 7-4 victory over Gold on Mike Martin Field inside Dick Howser Stadium. Junior Stephen Cardullo paced the Garnet offense going 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored and three RBI. The Miami, Fla., native also stole a pair of bases in the win.

Freshman Spencer Dickinson led the Gold squad on Friday evening with a solo home run and finished the fall scrimmage with a pair of hits, two runs scored and two RBI.

Brian Busch and Austin Wood each threw three innings in the final scrimmage of the season. Busch allowed three runs, all coming in the second inning. He bounced back in his final inning of work retiring all three batters that he faced in order.

Wood gave up two runs on Friday, one in the second and another in the third. He wrapped up a solid fall season showing periods of dominance while displaying great mound presence in his first season with the Seminoles.

“The fall scrimmage showed me that we still have some things to work on,” said head coach Mike Martin. “I thought defensively we played pretty well. There are still an awful lot of little things we’ve got to do; we didn’t bunt a whole lot the last couple of games, we just let them swing the bat. I thought they did a very good job of what we were trying to accomplish, pitcher’s locating the ball and putting together good swings at the plate.”
