The White team took the final game of the MSU baseball team’s Green-White World Series, 5-4, on Tuesday (Oct. 28) afternoon at Kobs Field. The White squad used a two-run eighth inning to get the win.
Junior Kurtis Frymier picked up the win for the White team, with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. Junior Chris Roberts (3-for-5) and senior A.J. Shindler (3-for-4) led the White team’s effort at the plate and each scored a run. Senior Johnny Lee was 1-for-3 in the game three RBIs.
Sophomore Brandon Eckerle went 1-for-4 with a triple while junior Bo Felt knocked in two runs for the Green squad.
Freshman Cory Huge pitched three scoreless innings in relief for the Green team, allowing just one hit and one walk.
The Spartans kick off the regular season Friday, Feb. 20 in Clearwater, Fla., against Connecticut.
