Michigan State Fall World Series Game 1 Recap

EAST LANSING, Mich. – In game one of the Michigan State baseball team’s annual Green-White World Series, the Green squad used back-to-back three run innings to down the White team, 10-5, on Sunday (Oct. 26) at Kobs Field.

Freshman Andrew Carpenter led the Green team’s effort with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate that included two doubles and five RBIs. Sophomore Jonathan Roof went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Roof also swiped two bases.

A trio of Spartans highlighted the White team’s effort, including senior Eric Roof, freshman Ryan Jones and senior Johnny Lee. Roof doubled twice and finished the day 3-for-5 and also scored once and stole a base. Jones, a freshman from Okemos, also doubled and had a 2-for-4 day at the plate. Lee had a team-high three RBIs.

Senior Nolan Moody earned the win while fellow senior A.J. Dunn suffered the loss for the White squad.

The Spartans will continue the series with games on Monday (Oct. 27) and Tuesday (Oct. 28) afternoon at Kobs Field. Both games will start at 3 p.m.
