The Gold team evened Mizzou Baseball’s Fall World Series by picking up a 13-12 win on Sunday at Taylor Stadium. The offenses for both teams were on display in game two, as 25 runs and 27 hits were put on the board in the seven-inning contest.

With the Gold team leading 8-3 in the fourth inning, the Black squad put up five runs in the top of the fourth inning, on four singles and a pair of walks, to tie the game at eight. Gold answered with a five-run bottom of the fourth, which included a two-run triple by freshman Ryan Gebhart to put Gold back in front, 13-8.

Mizzou Black attempted a late rally, plating four runs in the top of the sixth inning, but falling one run short.

Junior Greg Folgia led the Gold squad with a 4-for-4 performance, recording three singles and a sixth-inning double. He drove in two runs and scored three times. Gebhart, senior Steve Gray and freshman Conner Mach all had two-hit games for Gold.

Senior Kyle Mach and freshman Ben Turner each had three hits for Mizzou Black, while junior Trevor Coleman, freshman Andre Rodriguez and senior Austin Holt had two hits a piece. Sophomore Jonah Schmidt drove in three runs for the Black team, with all three scoring on a triple in the sixth inning.

The Black team won the series opener on Saturday by a score of 6-5. The final game of the Fall World Series will be played at 6 p.m. on Monday at Taylor Stadium.
