Auburn Fall World Series Game 2 Recap

AUBURN, Ala. – Grant Dayton threw five shutout innings to earn the win and help the Blue team to a game two victory, 9-3, and a split of the first two games of the Fall World Series. The deciding game will be played at noon on Sunday at Plainsman Park.

Joseph Sanders went 3-for-4 with three extra-base hits (two doubles and a triple) and drove in four runs for the Blue Team, which rebounded from a 5-2 game one loss. Wes Gilmer went 2-for-4 with a RBI while Caleb Bowen also collected a pair of hits for the Blue team.

Paul Burnside looked good on the mound opposite Dayton, tossing five innings but he allowed two runs. Justin Hargett had his second productive day for the Orange team, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs to give him four RBIs in the series. Brian Fletcher also had two hits for the Blue team.
